Road Repairs as part of the Additional Pothole Funding Project
Essex Highways is working with County Members to identify and repair potholes that are regarded as particularly important locally. This work is being funded in addition to the routine prioritised repairs that we conduct. We have worked with your local County Member, Cllr Valerie Metcalfe and your local District Councillor and Parish Council team and as a result plan to carry out localised repairs in the following roads:
Princes Road, Buckhurst Hill, Monday 11th March 2019, starting around 9:30am Kings Place, Buckhurst Hill on Monday 18th March 2019, starting around 9:30am
Queens Road, Buckhurst Hill on Monday 25th March 2019, starting around 9:30am
Work will take place as swiftly as possible and we will do our best to give you access but please expect some delays. If you are expecting deliveries, please consider if you can arrange to reschedule them to a more convenient time. Please do not park on these roads whilst works are taking place and avoid using the roads until the works have been completed.
Cllr Metcalfe comments “Because of both the business and residential nature of such a busy area, it is very difficult to know when and how to implement these repairs with the minimum disruption to the minimum number of people – so can I please ask you to co-operate with Highways as much as you can, even though I appreciate it might temporarily inconvenience you? The greater the co-operation, the quicker the work will be completed. Thank you so much for your understanding.”
As well as this round of immediate repairs, Essex Highways is also planning further capital-funded resurfacing to these roads, this coming financial year. The map overleaf shows the extent of the planned carriageway resurfacing. You can review the map on our interactive website; just go to www.essexhighways.org/transportand-roads/interactive-maps-and-live-travel-information/highways-informationmap.aspx , select ‘Programme > Road Resurfacing Programme’ from the index on the left, and zoom in to the area.
We will be in contact again once we have programmed dates, as we will once again need your co-operation to deliver these improvements. Thank you for your understanding.
